There are several competitions that you can enter in to either help you expand your skills or consolidate the ones you have and get your name out there in the industry.

PrimaryITO celebrates the achievements of our trainees and employers at our regional AgriAwards; the Awards are held annually in 16 regions throughout New Zealand. These awards nights recognise the successes of our trainees and farmer trainers.

We recognise our graduating trainees, top achievers and employers and reward them for their commitment to training.

Our AgriAwards also aim to raise the profile of PrimaryITO training locally and show the importance of farm training. Check out our Facebook page for photos of recent events.

FMG Young Farmer of the Year is New Zealand’s Ultimate Rural Challenge inspiring excellence, showcasing innovation and growing human capabilities. The FMG Young Farmer of the Year sets a benchmark of excellence for young people in the agricultural industry to achieve and aspire to. It is also an opportunity for agriculture to celebrate and reward its achievers and to showcase itself to the wider community.

The FMG Young Farmer of the Year portrays New Zealand agriculture as a professional, credible industry that provides a wealth of career opportunities and remains the cornerstone of the nation’s economy. It  is a way to educate people about agriculture and to make rural life accessible for all - for many city people the one hour live televised show is one of their few rural experiences during the year.
