Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre is New Zealand’s largest agricultural training centre offering a variety of full-time and part-time educational programmes.  It has been successfully preparing Kiwis for careers in agriculture since 1919.

Taratahi offers secondary and tertiary education options:  full-time courses, diploma programmes, short courses, extra mural study, STAR and Primary Industries Trades Academy.   Programmes at Taratahi allow students to choose from a range of farming operations, levels and campuses.

Telford is based on an 921ha commercial farm, just 6kms from Balclutha. Telford’s onsite, full-time certificate programmes in Agriculture, Dairy, Equine, and Forestry.

Diploma programmes  include Rural Veterinary Technician and the Lincoln Diploma in Agriculture, delivered full-time on-campus at Telford. Apiculture (beekeeping) is offered as a full-time programme at Kaitaia. Telford has a blended learning style of theory and applied hands-on training, giving students qualifications through real world experiences. On-campus student accommodation is available. Biz Grow has been designed to meet the needs of farmers in sharemilker and equity partner positions that are looking to speed up their progression in the dairy industry. Sessions will focus on strategic, financial and performance management skills and resources to equip participants for greater equity holding or owning their own farm business.
