Open to undergraduate students undertaking a Bachelor or Diploma in an area relevant to the meat processing and export industry.

Up to six scholarships of $5000 per annum, for up to three years while the scholar undertakes the Bachelors/Diploma programme. In addition, part-time or vacation work in the meat industry may be offered.

Areas of study which will be of interest to MIA are those which are relevant or potentially relevant to the New Zealand meat processing and export industry. While the industry seeks graduates in food sciences and engineering this does not preclude other areas of study that the applicant can show are relevant to the meat processing and export industry, for example: human resource management, environmental science, international marketing, process design, industrial innovation. MIA is responsible for deciding on the relevancy to the meat processing and export industry of any proposed area of study.
