Smedley Station offers a two-year farm cadetship programme, from January to December each year, for 11 trainees. The cadetship training is fully sponsored by the trust. This covers all your on-farm food and accommodation expenses. All you need to do is to buy your own clothes, harness gear and dogs. Bursaries are offered to cadets who have completed the two year course at Smedley. The bursaries are awarded for graduating cadets to undertake relevant agricultural diploma and degree courses at either Lincoln or Massey Universities.
