Lincoln University

Lincoln University&nbsp;is New Zealand’s specialist agriculturally-based university. The University’s qualifications range from certificate level through to PhD – and our teaching and research covers all activity associated with the agriculturally-based sectors to meet the needs of not only New Zealand but also the world. Helping students grow is what we are all about, with diverse learning that fits their ambitions in an environment that allows them to flourish. We partner them with industry to prepare them for the real world, so when the time comes, they are ready to go out there and grow the future for themselves and others.

Primary ITO

Primary ITO&nbsp;facilitates on-job training for people working in over 30 sectors - including Horticulture &amp; Viticulture, Dairy, Meat &amp; Fibre, Seafood, Equine and Sports Turf. We encourage the educational and work-life aspirations of trainees and support the productivity and profitability of organisations employing them. In 2016 we worked with more than 28,000 trainees and more than 7,000 employers. We also work with industry to develop training and qualifications that align with best practice and to meet current and future skills needs.

FAR Graduate Programme

The&nbsp;FAR Industry Graduate Programme&nbsp;open to recent graduates and final year students of agriculture, science and agricultural commerce. Successful applicants spend 18 months with FAR gaining a solid introduction to the New Zealand cropping industry. They get to work on research, extension and communication projects at our research sites across New Zealand.Applications open late June.

Agri-Women's Development Trust (AWDT)

AWDT research, design and deliver quality programmes that give women the tools, confidence and know-how to lead and contribute to the food &amp; fibre sector in new ways. With the right skills and support, these incredible women are helping transform farming businesses, industry organisations, Māori agribusiness and communities.&nbsp;From their flagship programme, Escalator, to the early career Generation Change, AWDT leadership courses are for women at every stage of their food &amp; fibre journey.&nbsp;

Study + Training

Argyle Award

Open to students from the Marlborough region (either attending secondary school, or resident in), intending to study agriculture or environmental management at Lincoln University.

John T Gibson Trust Scholarship

Open to Taranaki High School students pursuing their first year of tertiary agricultural or veterinary science education.

Lincoln University Young Farmers TeenAg Scholarship

Open to competitors in the TeenAg competition in the year immediately prior to commencing study, or in the year that they commence study at Lincoln University.

Lynwood Avocado Nursery Scholarship

There is one scholarship on offer to the value of $3000&nbsp;for the 2021 academic year.The objective of the Lynwood Avocado Nursery Scholarship is to provide invaluable mentoring and financial support to the successful applicant. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding Northland student, with a particular interest in horticulture, undertaking horticultural-related tertiary studies.
