MTLT Tenant Apprentice Scholarships

Financial Assistance for PrimaryITO Students

This scholarship provides a grant to PrimaryITO students who undertake their study within the Taranaki/Waverley region. Grants are paid upon written confirmation from PrimaryITO that the student has completed his/her course(s) for that respective year.  Scholarships can be held in concurrent with others.

Parininihi ki Waitotara Trust: Tertiary Grants

Closing Date: 31 Mar 2022

Open to students who are whakapapa to one of the eight Taranaki iwi, and enrolled with a New Zealand tertiary institute or training provider.

Whanganui Trust Farm Training or Trade Scholarship

Closing Date: 31 Mar 2022

Open to students who are shareholders or direct descendents of a current shareholder or a beneficiary of a shareholding trust of Morikaunui Incorporation, and majoring in a subject with an Agricultural/Farming/ Land based focus.

Haane Manahi Memorial Scholarship

Closing Date: 22 Jul 2022

This scholarship is established to assist Ngati Whakaue students and/or apprentices undertaking study, or an apprenticeship, cadetship, traineeship, that specialises in either forestry, farming, trades or service industries. 

The Board may award up to four annual scholarships not exceeding $20,000 in total, to cover unfunded course fees, required tools of trade for training purposes or other expenses at the discretion of the Board.

The scholarship is open to:

  • Ngati Whakaue descendants of an Original Owner in the Pukeroa Oruawhata Block or,
  • Descendants of one or more of the 6 Koromatua of Ngati Whakaue

Applicants must (preferably) be residents in the Rotorua District and must have attended for at least two academic years a secondary school in the Rotorua District.

Southern North Island Wood Council Scholarship

Closing Date: 31 Jul 2022

Open to people enrolling in full time relevant industry tertiary study; or an employee within the industry who aspires to further training.

MTLT Tenant Apprentice Scholarships

Open to apprentices employed by MTLT tenants.

Taranaki Careers and Training Expo trust scholarships

Closing Date: 6 Sep 2022

Open to Taranaki Year 11, 12 or 13 secondary students or anyone wishing to further their education or start a new career.

Parsons Family Trust Scholarship

Closing Date: 15 Oct 2022

Open to students who live between the Selwyn and Rangitata Rivers, planning to study agriculture, horticulture or aquaculture, by way of tertiary education or vocational training.

Peter Laing Memorial Trust Grants

Closing Date: 29 Oct 2022

Open to students from the Wairarapa region with intentions to follow a practical agriculture career, with a focus on pastoral farming.

Ron Mossop Youth Scholarship in Beekeeping

Closing Date: 31 Oct 2022

Open to those aged 17-25 years, and enrolled in an approved apiculture training programme. 

Hawke's Bay Fruitgrowers′ Association Charitable Trust - Horticulture Level 3 – 4 Scholarships

Closing Date: 26 Nov 2022

Open to Fruit Production or Post Harvest trainees domiciled in Hawke’s Bay and working towards Level 4 National Certificate of Horticulture (Apprenticeship). Individuals must be employed and undertaking education or training in horticulture subjects relevant to pipfruit, summerfruit or kiwifruit.

Wood Industry Research and Education Trust - Vocational Studies

Closing Date: 27 Nov 2022

Open to students undertaking career-related studies in the wood and forest industry sectors in New Zealand and entities involved in research, development and the advancement of forestry and wood science.
