Open to students with majors or minors in mathematics, statistics, or biology, with an interest in undertaking a Masters programme in quantitative fisheries research
A number of scholarships may be awarded, to the value of $20,000 per annum for up to two years. It is recommended that only those students who have taken statistics or mathematics courses at or beyond the second year level submit an application. The Ministry for Primary Industries wishes to develop this area of research, as there is a shortage of trained quantitative graduates in New Zealand to undertake research and contribute to the sustainable use of fisheries.
